SANDE, Philip James
          Phil was born Dec. 3, 1941 at Minot, the son of Bob and Geraldine (Stearns) Sande. He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane, Wash. in 1959. Then furthered his education at the University of Washington, graduating with a master's degree in economics. Phil moved to Dickinson in 1965. At this time he joined his parents in partnership of Sande Music Company. Phil was the workhorse who helped expand this business to service the entire southwestern part of North Dakota. He married Paulette Krumenacker on Aug. 26, 1967. Together they opened the Pied Piper t-shirt shop and arcade at Prairie Hills Mall in 1978. Eventually he went on to sell both Sande Music Company and the Pied Piper in 2011. He had served in the Air National Guard in Fargo for three years after college. He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at the University of Washington, the Mason's Lodge of Dickinson the North Dakota El Zagel's Shrine, the El Zagel's Rangers, the Elks Club, the Eagle's Club and the German Hungarian Club. He was also a co-founder and member of the North Dakota Coin Operators Association and North Dakota Tourament Association. He enjoyed golfing, playing darts, bowling, swimming, watching the Vikings and spending as much time as he could with family and friends. Phil is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paulette; their sons, Bryan J. (Kathy) Sande, Burnsville, Minn. and Christopher J. (Kenya) Sande, Littleton, Colo.; his granddaughters, Courtney Feist and Keyana Sande; his brother, Fred Sande, St. Paul, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Geraldine Sande.
