He was born November 25, 1940 in Spokane, Washington to Levonne (Ott) Carter and Delford Carter. Gary is survived by his sister Marydel; brothers Fred,
Mike and Wayne; sons Mark and Mike from his first wife Mary; many grandchildren; step-daughter Rima from his second wife Sheila. Gary is also survived
by Michael Carpenter whom he raised as his own from his relationship with Carolyn Carpenter, his partner Janet; and his BFF Jim
